Position: Manager, Inside Sales (ISM)

Reports to: Senior Manager, Inside Sales


The Inside Sales Manager (ISM) is instrumental in providing support to our Directors of Business Development in the field as well as our travel agent partners throughout North and South America. Inside Sales Managers are responsible for supporting and assisting in the growth of the territory as well as working with the Inside Sales Team on active projects. The successful candidate shall possess the ability to multi‐task in a fast paced environment and department that has many projects working at one time.

Job Responsibilities

  • Trade Show/Training participation and coordination including hosting trainings in person or via webinar
  • Cruise Night participation and management for each assigned DBD including tracking of ROI and conducting presentations
  • Work with assigned DBD’s to build lower half of their client’s production report including outbound calls
  • Work with assigned DBD’s on outbound call strategy to assist in territory growth
  • Assisting in problem resolution for DBD’s under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Inside Sales
  • Taking calls placed to Inside Sales and assist accordingly
  • Project Management i.e. sales familiarization and travel agent incentive programs
  • Receiving and processing co‐op invoices for payment using accounting software
  • Other duties as needed by the Company and Department

Experience and Knowledge

  • Ability to travel 30% (both domestic and international)
  • Public speaking capabilities. Ability to do in‐person presentation on the Viking brand
  • Understanding of the Travel Agent/Trade Industry distribution channel including Consortia’s
  • Ability to retain and organize large amounts of information
  • Essential‐working knowledge of Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Enjoy working as a team member as well as independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills
  • Ideally‐some event planning experience

Position Requirements

  • 4 Year Degree from accredited university or relevant work experience
  • 3+ years Travel Industry experience
  • Ability to travel 30% (both domestic and international)


  • Compensation is a combination of salary and bonus. Bonus plan to be put in place for 2015 sailing season growth
