Project Manager – IT Project Management

(Contract to Regular Position)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, committed Project Manager to help us deliver major changes to business critical Viking systems, on a global scale. Our successful culture over the last 17 years has been built on our ability to get things done as a team, this enthusiasm and focus is now trained on replacing a significant portion of our internal IT business support systems, and we need a Project Manager to help us. Reporting to the head of Program Management, you must exhibit enthusiasm and proven leadership with significant experience in working within a team environment. You should also be highly organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Leading and managing cross-functional teams developing and implementing package and custom built business critical systems
  • Delivering compliant and sustainable systems
  • Identifying and minimizing project risk
  • Driving team accountability for deliverables
  • Developing and delivering team recommendations to senior management
  • Creating and meeting all project milestones and financial commitments
  • Developing project schedules, cross-functional deliverables, and detailed timelines
  • Identifying and managing project priorities and cross-project dependencies
  • Driving the Scrum teams for daily team execution and delivery while fostering the Agile methodology
  • Assisting with financial analysis while monitoring and forecasting the budget throughout the project
  • Evaluating current processes to drive continuous improvement

  • Minimum 5 years of project management / project team experience
  • Minimum 7 years of IT experience
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, e.g., Scrum
  • Background working on midsized to large enterprise-level projects
  • Software Development background (.NET, C#, preferred)
  • Experience managing full life cycle software projects
  • Hospitality, Travel or Cruise, preferred
  • Previous software development lead background, preferred
  • Experience with middleware technology, preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, preferred
  • Outstanding listening skills – ability to embrace competing arguments, find common ground and align for the best solution
  • Inquisitive by nature, ability to question approaches, assumptions and decisions to gain the best solution possible
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, particularly in the early stages of large scale business critical programs
  • Strong problem solving skills – ability to evaluate and solve complex problems in conventional and non-conventional ways
  • Experience in strategic planning, gap analysis and roadmap development

  • Software Development background (.NET, C#, preferred)
  • Hospitality, Travel or Cruise, preferred
  • Previous software development lead background, preferred
  • Experience with middleware technology, preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification, preferred
