Air Planning Advisor


The Air Planning Advisor is responsible for a high volume of inbound calls servicing and accommodating air flights for customers requesting the custom air reservations. Responsible for ensuring that all additional air charges are accurate and correctly reflected on all invoices. Communicate in a timely manner to Manager all air issues which may adversely affect profit margin on bookings for quick remedial action. Air Planning Advisor is responsible for booking and pricing last minute air requests. Responsible for communicating the status on requested tickets to requesting person/s. Other duties may be assigned as required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Take incoming calls from Viking Cruises reservation/ travel agents
  • Secures air booking requests and contracted rates, accurately books/prices all contract type bookings/fares
  • Re-check stored fares in bookings and add these as needed.
  • Communicates to Custom air passengers of Viking River Cruises policies and procedures.
  • Adds fee to booking and notes both air and cruise bookings
  • Work airline schedule changes, and advise Custom Air passenger as necessary.
  • Customer Services call outs when required.
  • Preferred experience: Reservations and customer service experience. Airline, destination, and air city code knowledge. Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ensure updates to bookings are made promptly
  • Process air cancellations and other related services promptly

Technical Requirements:
  • Thorough and current knowledge of Sabre. No exceptions.
  • Competent proficiency on MS Office products including Excel and Outlook

Position Requirements
  • College degree preferred
  • Must have call center/contact center environment (1 year minimum)
  • General knowledge of world geography
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and strong PC skills
  • Availability to work variable shifts, including weekends (pre-scheduled)
